I just can’t believe this nicca has diplomatic immunity, even though he’s showing us papers. I’ve never heard of any rapper or entertainer ever having diplomatic immunity, not even the great Michael Jackson, so its hard to believe Birdman is an untouchable diplomat. I do understand there are different levels of a diplomatic status, but c’mon really son???
Lil Wayne made a comment earlier this week where he said, “I Don’t Like New York.” Although it was an off the cuff statement many people are taking it to heart and feels offended by the comment. NYC Senator Malcolm Smith is one who is offended and demanding an apology from the New Orleans rapper.
The senator is feeling some type of way, because he is a die-hard New York native and feel that someone like Lil Wayne who makes revenue from New Yorkers, has a growing NY fanbase, has artist on his label from New York, and has had plenty of success in his profession of hip hop which derives from New York and is the birthplace of rap music — is a bit disrespectful for TUnechi to flat out say he doesn’t like New York.
Birdman gives us his stance on the comment and says he’s sticking by his son’s side. “If he don’t like it, then we don’t like it!” He apparently rocking with Weezy’s outlook on the city.
How do you feel about the comment? Do you think Weezy was not being sensitive to his NY fan base?
Wayne is in the process of writing a book about his stay on Rikers Island.
