OFWGKTA’s “Tyler The Creator” Gets Hit In The Face With A Beer Can
The leader of the wolf pack, Tyler the Creator gets hit in the face by a beer can. The person who threw it decided not to man up after Tyler called the person out! Exhibiting professionalism the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All crew continued the show without any more interruptions or altercations.
The crowd definitely felt their stage presence and chanted “Wolf Gang” as an encore to the performance. I think these cats are very talented and creative in their music and display, but I just don’t like the fact they appear to be devil worshippers.
Even if satanic worship is just their gimmick, it’s not a cool gimmick to sell your soul to satan for fame and popularity. Diddy (a strong believer in God and spiritual man) definitely faded to black during the performance!

To be honest when I first heard them I was like “I really like this”! I found them when I was kind of depressed so while i noticed the devil lyrics, i didn’t really care and they spoke to me briefly. Now I feel differently. I still like the beats but it’s this whole 666, “im the devils son”, inverted cross thing I’m having a problem with. If it’s a gimmick it still doesn’t condone it.
By coming out and saying “yeah we down with the devil” or whatever gives off the impression that they want people to be cool with it and it’s not cool. Fuck what anyone says (forgive me) but it aint cool. Is being cool, liking their music and supporting them really worth selling out to your beliefs? That’s the question.
TO be honest I think it’s to generate more hype about them. If you think about it what other artist(s) around now are putting their “devil worship” out on the table apart from Kanye here and there? Sure a lot of people being accused haven’t accounted for it which generates more hype but these cats are putting it plain and simply out there! No doubt.
That’s part of the reason that people are taking notice and their popularity is growing so fast. Shoot – me typing this is abating to the fact!
Bottom line is I thought I could separate from beliefs from my music but i’m so heavily influenced by it that starting to realize that I can’t. Also worth mentioning is that the leader Tyler seems to be the one spraying all this 666 shit. Earl Sweatshirt and Mike Almighty aren’t so obvious but then again it’s early days.
A lot of people are gonna wanna shout “oh it’s just music don’t take it so seriously” but it isn’t just music and it needs to be taken seriously.

I agree Kyla and commend you for being brave enough to speak the truth. The media has a way of making things look as if they are just for fun. But, the reality is that God is definitely real and you don’t play with Him like that. Good beats or not. The devil’s job is to try and destroy as many people as he can and he is very creative about doing that. Why wouldn’t he pick music as his platform? Whether the musician believes in it or not. Good for you for putting him on blast!

There are plenty of Christian, Catholic, and Muslim musicians I enjoy even though I choose not to believe in a higher power (Atheist). I don’t expect you to understand though. Now, granted, some of you actually seem like quite an intelligent lot. But the rest of you? Allow me to get out the laundry list:
Firstly, I’d like to present a giant “Missing The Point Entirely” award to 90% of the people whom have commented on this already. Saying his song Bastard is Satanic? It’s called a metaphor; His father abandoned him when he was little, and because of that, he considers his father to be evil and, by exaggerating the point, calling him Satan and himself, by extension, Satan’s son. The main point behind hip-hop is to use witty lyricism, wordplay, rhythm of speech, all backed up by an instrumental beat, to say something, preferably useful or intelligent (Although every rule as its exceptions), in their songs.
Secondly, despite what most of you do think, Tyler’s other Satan worshipping displays are all done for shock value to drive up interest in him and his work. And guess what? By posting here denouncing him for worshipping the Devil, you’re only creating MORE interest in his work.
Thirdly, Tyler is an Atheist, no bones about it. But for some of you, this is essentially Satanism under a different label. Congratulations, you have just proven you know all of nothing about either Satanism OR Atheism. Satanism is the worship of Satan; Atheism is the belief that neither God nor the Devil actually exist. Big difference.
Fourthly, I am both a big fan of hip-hop myself, as well as being an agnostic (Allow me to do the research for you; it means that I personally believe that any God, be it Christian, Jewish, Hindi, Greco-Roman, Egyptian, etc., could exist and that I am in no position to say that they don’t), and I really REALLY get pissed off at these sorts of people who just denounce an artist because of what they choose to believe. That’s like an atheist refusing to listen to Jay-Z, Eminem or Kanye West because they’re Christians. Even if he was a Satanist (which he isn’t), that is a reason to stop listening to his songs…. why? Seriously, no one is forcing you to listen to it, and no one has the right to force others to think as they do. The only person/persons who would ever have the right to do that would be God, and I believe he/she/they are perfectly able to speak for himself/herself/themselves, thank you very much.
