The jury is in and the verdict is NOT GUILTY! The 12 person jury took less than an hour to deliberate and bring back a verdict of “not guilty”. Torence “Lil Boosie“ Hatch is a free man! Well, not necessarily he still has to sit in prison to serve his 8 year sentence for unrelated drug charges, but the murder case that could have had Boosie in jail for life is now a thing of the past and he can move on with life feeling refreshed.
Lil Boosie attorney Jason Williams said, “The quick verdict showed that they should never have charged him. We didn’t call a single witness because every single witness they called, even the police officers, did not say anything connecting Torence to this.”
Congratulations Boosie! I’m sorry for the victim’s family, but maybe now they can focus their investigation on another suspect. The victim sister is also Boosie’s baby mother.
Back in 2010 ex-Bad Boy rapper G-Dep walked into a NYPD 25th Precint and confessed to a 17 year old murder in Harlem. He has since retracted his confession, but it was a little too late as prosecution already built a case against G-Dep, whose real name is Trevell Coleman.
Early yesterday morning G-Dep sat in a New York courtroom where he was sentenced to 15 years to life on second degree murder charges. After the court proceedings he spoke to MTV and said,
“However it went down, it was just one of them things where I knew I was facing some type of charge, so whatever the verdict was, I knew it was God’s will. You know, someone was taken from [the Henkel] family, so I can’t feel like I was robbed in any kind of way, I just want to thank everyone that was involved in the case”
It has been confirmed that Beastie Boys member MCA has passed away after a almost three-year battle with cancer.
