Vibe magazine is running an exclusive from Debra Antney where she gives her review or two cents about her former artist, Nicki Minaj.  Deb Antney is Waka Flocka Flame mother as well as his manager plus other artists such as Gucci Mane and was once Nicki Minaj manager.  Here’s what Deb had to say about the “Pink Friday” album:

It’s terrible. I like some stuff, but she went too left. I don’t think people were ready for her to come [out with pop]. When I had Nicki, I really wanted her to sing. That’s why I took her for training cause Nicki loves singing, but she kept saying to me, ‘Deb, I can’t do it yet because people won’t understand.’ And that’s why the [rap] mixture was done to introduce them to all of Nicki. I think [Pink Friday] was very disappointing to a lot of her fans. She didn’t need a lot of [the] features. That was one of the biggest things like… you gave people so many features, give them you now. Nicki could be so much better because—outside of anything that people say—she’s very multi-talented. I really wish that she would learn to be more of an artist.

I didn’t particularly care for [“Roman’s Revenge”], but when Eminem came in I liked it. He made the song. [Nicki] didn’t have to go there with [Lil’ Kim]. My views on that is that she came too far to go back that route. And Kim does not even have to go there. There are no comparisons to them. Some things are best left unsaid. The whole things is stupid. I’m very disappointed that she would go that route. ‘Cause I know all that she was taught. She don’t have to go there with anybody. That was the stuff we always discussed. People had to learn to love Nicki— that’s how the door opened up. It wasn’t about Kim or Foxy or any of the rest of them. So I was just a little disappointed [by her album], but If she likes it, I love it.

I don’t knock anyone opinion and respect all reviews, but to say Nicki and Lil Kim have no comparisons is a huge understatement!  Nicki basically is reading from the Lil Kim handbook, so the comparisons are there all day!

How do you feel about the review?  Is Debra just a disgruntled manager who was fired and now throwing shots every chance she gets?  Or does she make a strong argument that Pink Friday was a trash album?  Let’s hear your Pink Friday review, leave your comments below!

It seems Waka Flocka Flame gang affiliation isn’t going unnoticed by the Atlanta PD.  In recent reports Waka’s home was raided by police yesterday, during which marijuana, prescription drugs, and firearms were confiscated.  At the time of the raid Gucci Mane was at the home and arrested, but later freed.  It seems Gucci just got caught in the middle.  Waka Flocka however was no where to be found.

Waka Flocka’s mother and manager, Debra Antney, was also at the home at the time of the raid.  Along with Gucci and two others she was also detained by the police but later let go.  The police seemed not to have anything concrete to hold on Waka or his home occupants.  The marijuana found was less than an ounce, said to be only a blunt.  The prescription drugs were found in Waka’s room and were prescribed to him for the pain he endured during a February shooting.  And the firearms found were all legally registered.

Deb Antney claims she will file a formal complaint against the Atlanta authorities.  “There’s nothing going on for you to kick a door in,” she said. “We were really surprised, but the neighbors always watch. We live in a country club, so they always watch, they always assume.”

More power to you Waka and Gucci.  Keep doing y’all thang!  Let the haters hate.  G’s up A’s down!  F*ck the police!
