After spending 8 years behind bars, Tru Life has made it home.  He was arrested in 2009 for a murder, but later convicted of assault.  He proclaims he had nothing to do with the murder.  The homicide was supposedly caught on tape, which would had showed his brother commiting the crime, but not to put his brother through trial Tru plead guilty to the lesser charge of assaullt and lost eight years of his freedom.

Tru Life sat down with The Breakfast Club and discussed his time in jail.  He talks about how wack prison really is and how it shouldn’t be glorified.  He spoke about missing his family and working on being a better person.  He seems very humbled and in a good place.

He also talks about his relationship with Jay-Z, and tells that they are still cool.  He says he has deaded any beefs in the past, including Mobb Deep beef.  Tru is focused on making music and getting to the bag.  He doesn’t want to carry the bully persona any longer and just wants everyone to get along.

If you remember Tru Life from his older days, then you know he’s speaking like a changed man and let’s hope he let that part of his life really go.  He was legendary in these streets.

Robert Tru LifeRosado former member of Jay-Z’s Roc La Familia label took a plea deal yesterday for second-degree murder which sentences him to 10 years in prison.

On June 15, 2009 Tru and his brother, Marcus Rosado got into an altercation with two other men at Club Pacha in NYC.  Hours later the fight progressed to the Murray Hill apartment building, where 30 year old Jason Black was stabbed and 20-year old Christopher Guerrero was killed.

Tru Life turned himself into the authorities expecting to be hit with first-degree murder charges, but caught a plea deal for second-degree murder and gang assault charges.  Tru Life was given a ten year sentence while his brother, who also got a second-degree murder plea deal, was sentenced to twelve years.  Neither can appeal their sentence as this is a condition of the plea.

If you ask me these dudes got a lucky break!!  I’ve seen guys get that same time for lesser crimes!  Ten years ain’t nothin’ compared to what they could have been given.  I think these boys should “thank” their lucky stars.  I’m sure the victim family feels this is an injustice!
