Troy Ave isn’t having the best of luck this year. After being behind bars since May 26, 2016 for the shooting death of his best friend, Banga, at Irving Plaza in New York City, Troy finally gets some good news. TMZ has reported that Troy Ave will not be charged with first-degree murder after ballistic test came back and reveaked the gun used by Troy was not the same weapon used to kill his friend.
Unfortunately, good news isn’t the only news Troy received, because even though he’s not being charged with first-degree murder, doesn’t mean he’s scott-free. The bad news is Troy Ave is still facing serious charges, that can keep him behind bars for a very long time.
Troy has officially been charged with 1 count of attempted second-degree murder and 4 counts of criminal possession of a deadly weapon. Troy still sits on Rikers Island without a bail. His lawyer, Scott Leemon, told TMZ he plans to request the release of Troy Ave at the next hearing, which is scheduled for later this week.
Scott, tells TMZ, “The video does not show everything nor explain what happened in the VIP room before Troy came running out, as a victim, after he was shot.”
Since Troy hasn’t been indicted of first-degree murder it’s really loooking positive for him. It’s highly likely the judge will grant him a bail this week, so it’s probable Troy will be home. It’s going to be a crazy summer if he returns, as he should. Keep ya’ head up Troy, you’ll be home before you know it.
