Nike recently released only 1,500 pairs of its Nike MAG a.k.a. Marty McFly sneakers. On Thursday it was unveiled in Los Angeles. The 1,500 pairs are currently on auction at eBay, but unless you’re willing to pay well into the thousands then you might as well give it up. The first pair already sold for $37,500.
British rapper Tinie Tempah was the winning bidder for the first ever auction for the Nike MAG’s. The boi made history and snatched up a collectible all in the same breathe.
The proceeds from the sale of the shoe will go to Michael J. Fox foundation, for Parkinson’s disease research. Michael J. Fox played the main character “Marty McFly” in the movie Back To The Future I, II, & III. This sneaker was introduced in episode two. It helped Marty fly.
The Nike MAG is a must have collectible for fans of the Back To The Future trilogy. I’m guessing Tinie was also a fan of the movie. Congratulations to him! I hope he put those up and not seen wearing them out like cheap sneakers. lol Tempah’s DJ, DJ Charlesy confirmed his winning bid.
