Tomorrow would have been Tupac 40th birthday, but on September 13, 1996 a shooting took place which ended his life. The man Dexter Isaac may not have put the fatal bullet into 2Pac, but he bears as much responsibility as anyone. He’s the mystery guy in 1994 who shot Pac five times in the NY studio lobby where Biggie and Puff were recording at the time. This shooting is what started the East Coast and West Coast beef, because 2Pac blamed Puffy and Big for setting him up.
Dexter Isaac is currently serving a life sentence for murder, robbery, and other charges. He admitted being paid $2,500 by James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond to kill Tupac Shakur. Dexter says,
“I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman],” Dexter Isaac told AllHipHop.com from prison. “I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie’s] mothers some closure.”
Dexter is owning up to the shooting now only because his old friend Henchman identified him in a statement to prosecutors in relation to a drug case, which Henchman is currently on the run from.
For a long time it’s been speculation that Jimmy had something to do with the shooting, but its only been rumor up to this point. In fact Tupac even suspected Jimmy was behind the shooting. Now there’s closure on this discussion.
