With the current state of things for blacks in America, tensions are high.  In recent days, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile lost their lives senselessly at the hands of police officers.  This has created an even greater divide between police and the black community.  There are those who feel retaliation against the police is the needed course of action, while others feel that is the wrong direction for our people.

David Banner is on the side of the fence where he feels striking back at police or preventing police from killing another brother by bearing arms, is the correct course of action for black America.  Lyfe Jennings is against the attack on police officers and voices his opinion at an “Real Strategy For Change” town hall meeting at House of Hope Church in Decatur, GA.

Lyfe tells David Banner that his idea to bring guns to go against the police is “crazy” and “stupid”.  His words rubbed David Banner the wrong way and he aggressively stood, which made Lyfe Jennings stand as well and the two were at each other necks.  This is when Tyrese intervened and stood between the two brothers, preventing any blows from being thrown.  Tyrese announced that his daughter was present and that there would be none of that unruly behavior while she is here.

Other attendees and panelists for this event included, 2 ChainzJeezyRickey Smiley and Dr. Bernice King (daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.).  Dr. Bernice told the people, “We have got to find a way to get on one accord in our approach.”   Jeezy added, “We’re getting a chance to really see what these people have been doing to our people since the beginning.”

Tyrese may have deescalated this particular situation, but across America many of sharing sentiments such as David Banner, as well as a more peaceful construct such as Lyfe Jennings.  What is your take on things?  What side do you stand on?
